Iowa Film Tax Credit Subject of Criminal Probe
The Iowa attorney general has opened a criminal probe into the state's film tax-incentive program. The investigation follows the release of an accountant's report that showed that tax-credit contracts from the Iowa Film Office were changed without notification being given to top officials at the department that oversees the agency. The changes were primarily made to inflate production budgets. The review also found that officials' signatures were copied and moved from original documents to revised versions.
