Lit Crawl NYC
This Saturday, bring your Chaucer, and a flask: It's time for Lit Crawl NYC! Huzzah!
Wait, you ask, what is Lit Crawl NYC? Brought to you by the brains behind Litquake, San Francisco's literary festival, Lit Crawl NYC takes humankind's two greatest inventions (literature and booze) and combines them both into one crazy literary bar-hopping extravaganza. The inaugural Lit Crawl NYC took place in September 2008; join the crawl this year, and help establish it as a recurring annual event!
The 2009 Lit Crawl NYC consists of 11 literary events jam-packed into two hours. The festivities begin Saturday, May 16th at 7 p.m. at a scattering of East Village venues and angles: KGB (Harper Perennial trivia), Gallery Bar (BOMB Magazine's BOMB-aoke), and four others. At 8 p.m. the action shifts down to the Lower East Side with more events, including: Opium Magazine (interviews with Chris Kennedy and more), Gallery Bar (FSG presents: Ground Up & Consumed, featuring Michael Idov). Lit Crawl NYC finishes up with a literary-based after-party at Fontana's at 105 Eldridge Street (between Grand and Broome), starting at 9 p.m. and continuing on through the wee hours.
Litquake’s Lit Crawl NYC is sponsored by Harper Perennial, Opium Magazine and the Literary Death Match.
